Your ears can be damaged by long-awaited vacations. While you dream about your vacation, learn how to protect your hearing and ears from the constant whirring sound inside the cabin.
It is important to protect your hearing from loud noises. This has been said many times. This doesn’t mean just construction. This also applies to your next plane trip.
The maximum level of noise inside an airplane can quickly reach 85 decibels. This is the limit that your ears can tolerate before it can potentially affect your hearing. This level is 85 decibels. The noise level inside a plane cabin can rise to as high as 105 decibels during take-off or landing. The noise level drops to 85 decibels when the plane is at high altitude. Protect your ears if you are going to be on a long flight.
These are some tips to help protect your ears when you fly.
1. Earplugs are recommended
Earplugs can be a great way for your hearing to be protected and a pleasant way to travel by plane. Earplugs that are specifically designed for flying can be purchased at your local pharmacy.
2. Use noise canceling headphones
You can make your trip more enjoyable with noise canceling headphones. They will protect your ears and your hearing. You can listen to music, radio, and video while on the move with noise canceling headphones.
3. Book an aisle seat near the nose of your plane
Because they are the furthest away from the engines, the front rows are the quietest. For good measure, however, it is worth noting that the galley in the front of the plane is often where crew members prepare meals and have chats during quieter times. There may still be noise, but it will be a different type of noise.
Aisle seats are several decibels quieter that window seats. If you don’t want to miss the view, the aisle is the best option. However, we cannot guarantee how loud the other passengers will be.
It might be worth considering taking the train.
This is not a great tip for flying. You might consider swapping your plane ride for a train. This is especially true if you are not too far from your destination.
We wish you a great journey, no matter what way you choose!
